Nemoso is a cinematic ebook discovery publication and literary discovery publication. This page explains what our content is — and is not — and the limits within which it should be read.
1. Editorial and educational intent
Reviews, summaries, shelf notes, and reading guides on Nemoso are editorial in nature. They help readers discover public-domain literature and decide whether a title suits their mood — they do not replace reading the work itself.
We publish full texts only where we believe distribution is legally permitted, typically via established public-domain archives. Our mission is cultural preservation and unhurried discovery, not commercial exploitation of modern rights holders.
2. Public-domain sourcing
Texts are sourced from reputable public-domain repositories such as Project Gutenberg and similar archives. We perform human review of formatting and presentation. Copyright status can vary by jurisdiction; readers outside the United States should verify local law before relying on a title’s availability.
3. No ownership claim over original works
Nemoso does not claim ownership of literary works by Austen, Poe, Wells, or other authors in the public domain. We claim ownership only of our editorial presentation, site design, and original prose surrounding those works.
4. No piracy affiliation
Nemoso is not affiliated with piracy sites, warez communities, or unauthorized scanlation groups. We do not link to torrents, cyberlockers, or forums dedicated to infringing copies of commercially published books.
5. No professional advice
Some classics touch on medicine, finance, philosophy, or psychology. Nothing on Nemoso is professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for personal decisions requiring licensed expertise.
6. Metadata and ratings
Page counts, difficulty labels, tone tags, and star ratings are editorial signals to orient expectations. They may differ by edition or translation and are not official scores from any retailer or review aggregator.
7. External references
Links to Wikipedia, Standard Ebooks, Google Books, and similar services are bibliographic and contextual. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or policies.
8. Cover images
Covers are shown for identification from public bibliographic metadata. Rights holders who believe use exceeds fair reference may contact editors@nemoso.com.
9. Informational use
Use Nemoso as a reading and discovery tool, not as a substitute for licensed editions when you wish to support living authors or access critical apparatus, illustrations, or translations not in our catalog.
10. Accuracy of automated text
Chapter text is derived from public-domain sources and automated formatting pipelines. While we review titles before publication, typographical errors, missing lines, or chapter-boundary quirks may remain. Readers who rely on Nemoso for citation or scholarship should verify against an authoritative edition.
11. Translations and editions
When multiple translations or editions exist, we publish the version available from our chosen archive. We do not claim that edition is the definitive scholarly text. Footnotes, illustrations, and critical apparatus found in print editions may be absent from our HTML discovery experience.
12. Limitation of liability
Use of Nemoso is at your own discretion. See our Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability.
